Alessandro Imbriaco was born in Salerno, Italy, in 1980. He currently lives and works in Rome. His works have been published in the most important Italian magazines and he won the 2008 Canon Award for Young Photographers and World Press Photo 2010 contemporary issues 2nd prize stories with his feature on Casilino 900 nomad camp. His work was shown in solo and collective exhibitions (“Premio Atlante Italiano 2007”, MAXXI, Museum for the Arts of the XXI Century, Rome â€ Fotografia, Rome International Photography Festival â€ Grazia Neri Gallery, Milan, 2009 -¬ Fabbrica del Vapore, Milan 2009 – Global Photography, Savignano Immagini 2009). Since 2008 he was taking part in the Reflexions Masterclass by Giorgia Fiorio and Gabriel Bauret. Alessandro Imbriaco has been selected for the 18th annual World Press Photo Joop Swart Masterclass 2011. With his work “Angela’s Garden” he won the grant at the latest edition of the Pesaresi Awards in 2011, within the SI Fest in 2011. He has been selected with as one of the fifteen photographers presented by Foam Magazine as Talents of 2011. He joined Contrasto in 2007, he lives in Rome.
